We’ve all been there. Sitting in our hotel room or at home looking outside thinking, “Well, I have the whole day off with my family, and it’s rainy and cold. What are we going to do?” Let me tell you exactly what to do if you find yourself in Nashville on a rainy day.

Why not visit the latest exhibit at the Frist Art Museum and while there enjoy some delicious food and drinks at Café Cheeserie, the restaurant concept of the famous food truck the Grilled Cheeserie.

Recently my family and I found ourselves in this predicament. The entire day to spend together trying to find something that would be fun for the entire family. So, we loaded up and went downtown to the Frist. The current exhibit was called Farm to Table. It showcased Impressionist paintings from the turn of the century and highlighted the struggles and the beauty of life and food during that time.

Our favorite part about the Frist, other than the incredible art is the interactive room on the second floor that is fun for all ages.

You can draw still life or create a stop motion film. They offer different mediums and inspire visitors to find their inner artist.

We take our time and move through each station finding more creativity with each medium. They also have a toddler area, and I love how they offer a reading nook filled with books that pertain to the current exhibit.

Our first stop after buying tickets was to have a delicious lunch at Café Cheeserie. Their famous grilled cheese and tomato soup did not disappoint but the star of the show was the brown butter chocolate chip cookie.

My husband remarked that these were probably the best chocolate chip cookies he’s ever had. The Hibiscus Tea and Mocha Latte were delightful and the best accompaniment to our perfect rainy-day lunch. I love that they offer drawing tablets to get your family off your phones and interacting. Our drawing challenge was giraffe. Don’t laugh.. I did my best. Stop by the gift shop on the way out for some unique and interesting gifts, including some pretty awesome Nashville souvenirs. Slowly walk down the corridor on the way out and notice the local artwork lining the hallway. I love seeing the amazing talent in our community.

Look for tickets online at Tickets - Frist Art Museum . They offer free tickets to HCA employees with your badge and discounted tickets to Seniors, Military and Veterans.
And for the music lovers in the group, a short walk down the street to the Gibson Garage and check out some history and buy some awesome Gibson merch.

This place also offers, guitar lessons, and at different times offers live shows. Check their website for upcoming events. Welcome to Gibson Garage
On a rainy day in Nashville, there is lots to do in the Music City, but that's our recommendation for a day that we all loved! Now Let's Make Memories!
